Do you offer 20 hours ECE?

Yes, Richmond Preschool is a government approved ECE (early childhood education) programme. The Government funds the cost of children aged 3-5 years to attend early childhood education for up to 20 hours a week. This funding is called 20 Hours ECE and is available for up to six hours a day with a maximum of 20 hours per week for children in approved programmes, like our centre.

Do you have a school readiness programme?

Yes, our Kea Club,  helps build a strong foundation of independence and essential skills for children to transition to school as confident, capable learners. We have worked with New Entrant teachers from our local primary schools to ensure that we are teaching children the skills and knowledge they need to succeed when they begin at school. This programme is for the children in our Tuatara room who are within two (2) terms of beginning at Primary school.

Our enrolment packs given out at your first visit explain about this programme, but do feel free to also ask our Tuatara Room teachers more about the specifics of this programme if you want to.

At what age can my child start?

From 2025, our centre will be licensed for children aged 0-5 years; as a result of our change in licence, we will be accepting enrolments for children to attend from 6 months or older. Please contact us to discuss our pre-planned settling process for your child.
